How are you supporting patients with early mobilisation in critical care?

The Kimac is a specialist motorised chair designed to encourage independence and mobility in HDUs and ICUs
Patients in long-term ITU care can be prone to muscle weakness, pressure sores, and poor circulation. Knight Imaging’s Autotilt Kimac critical care chair is designed for High Dependency Units and Intensive Care Units and is intended to support patient mobilisation during recovery. This helps patients move safely from bed to chair, encouraging independence and mobility.
Independent power supply
The Kimac is fully motorised, allowing staff to raise, lower, tilt, and recline the chair as suitable for each patient, supporting individual patient requirements. It operates using an integrated battery power supply and does not require mains power. This cordless operation eliminates trailing electrical leads in busy environments, helping to reduce trip hazards.
Effective infection control
Infection control is particularly important in ICUs where critically ill patients may be immunocompromised. The Kimac's padded seating provides comfort and support and is finished in antibacterial upholstery with smooth, sealed surfaces for quick, effective contamination control that is easy to clean. The chair's metalwork is powder-coated instead of painting, meaning it will not chip or peel.
