The VELA allows staff to avoid straining their backs and shoulders in extreme positions when screening patients. When the patient sits down, the staff has a better working posture with relaxed shoulders. Furthermore, the chair’s easy running wheels make it easy to position the patient and stability is quickly restored with a foot brake to lock the wheels. Finally, the chair offers electric height adjustment to easily control the patient’s height in front of the device and find the best working position.

The VELA offers safety and stability when patients need to sit down, for example if they have balance issues. It can also improve the staff work environment to sit patients down because strenuous working postures can be avoided when patients are at a lower height.

Suitable for both CC and MLO views, as the patient can be placed and locked very close to the machine, and armrests can be folded down. Optimal positioning of the patient on a secure and locked base, which, through the electric lift system, can easily be adjusted to the equipment and staff.

Greater image precision, as the patient can be secured in a forward-facing position, releasing a larger accessible breast area. Smooth-running wheels make the chair easy to manoeuvre and position accurately at the machine.

Central brake ensures that the chair can be secured in a selected position until the examination is done and the mammographer is ready for repositioning.

Foldable armrests allow closer access to the machine during MLO imaging.

Foot-operated brake and adjustable handlebar prevent inappropriate working postures.

Electric seat height adjustment via a wired remote ensures the correct working height but also the ability to position the patient precisely at the X-ray machine.
